INTRO- We all have some little negative phrases that we continually tell ourselves. We may endorse them subconscious or even speak them out loud. Things like:
“Ah, I’m so stupid!”
“ I don’t deserve this.”
“I can’t do this”
“ I’m so embarrassing!”
The problem is that what we speak we kinda speak into existence. Our brain doesn’t know the difference between a factual word and a silly word. Words are connected to emotions. And these emotions send out triggers to our brain, which cause a false chemical reaction. I for sure don’t want my brain to mould into the words of “I’m so stupid!” I believe you too. So let’s look at how our brain processes information and what we can do to let it process constructive and positive information. Information that can push us in the right direction of achieving our goals!
HOW OUR BRAIN PROCESSES INFORMATION- Our brain forms a response to any scenario or signal that is happening. Complex responses happen when the brain integrates sensory stimuli with additional forms of information, such as background music. Sensory stimuli helps the brain to remember an information. It gives the brain the signal, that this information is worth remembering. Once the information is stored in the long term memory it is important to repeat the information from time to time so that it stays in the memory. That’s why it’s good to make use of active recall methods, like speaking the information out loud. As soon as our brain receives a signal it sends out chemicals and electrical signals throughout our body. Different signals control different processes, that can make you feel a certain type of way. Our brain interprets each and chooses the reaction like for example a feeling of pain. Even if the information is not true, or we speak careless words our brain receives the signal and starts the processing as if the information was true.
Now imagine us constantly processing negative information and what toxic chemicals and electrical signals are released in our brain and body! With simple positive statements and creating a positive mental image of ourselves, we can actually have the power to activate many of the same brain processes as if they were facts. That’s actually very good news!
We can actually have the ability to speak positive things into existence! For if we truly believe something it will be reflected in our actions. We will act according to the way we have formed our brain over time! This is the reason why I vigorously practice affirmations and mental self care. I do want to think, speak and act positive and loving.

More relaxation/ emotional rest
can dismantle self- sabotaging thoughts
can restore our self image
can bring more confidence
can enhance our self love
can give us more love for others
can remind us of the truth
can remind us of our dreams & goals
can motivate us to put more action into our goals
can boost our mood
can regulate your nervous system
can make us more optimistic in general
And at last, practicing positive speech can give us more feminine joy! 😆

HOW TO INTEGRATE POSITIVE SPEECH INTO OUR AMBITIOUS DAY- I know that most of us are very driven. Our days are packed with necessary things. So it feels like we don’t have any time for self care. We put ourselves last. Shouldn’t it actually be the other way around? Instead of turning on the TV immediately after coming home, why not take some time to debrief? And then using the cooking time to wind down even further. Or incorporate a calming practice in your bed time routine. Whenever you do it, block at least 15 min a day to come to emotional rest.
Suggestions to how to spend your 15 min of emotional self care:
Try to get as comfortable as possible. Lay down or turn on ambience music.
Try to feel into yourself: What’s your current emotional state? What do you believe about yourself? What do you wish for? Create a mental or physical list of positive affirmations that you speak daily over yourself. Start now and try to grasp how those positive words make you feel.

Generally make a commitment to not speak negatively to yourself. If you catch yourself, pause and then correct the negative phrase with a positive one.
IN CLOSING- Let’s correct the phrases above as an example:
“Ah, I’m so stupid!” - Ah I made a mistake! No worries, this can happen!”
“ I don’t deserve this.” - “ I do deserve this. I’m worth it.”
“I can’t do this” - “I can do this if I believe in myself!”
“ I’m so embarrassing!” - “Oh, I can be funny.”
See how a mistake or embarrassing moment can turn into a positive and not so negative deep moment? How much better it feels to not immediately punish yourself with those negative thoughts and words? It’s a habit to maintain! A habit that needs to be practiced daily. You gout this!
